I have been seeing the same hairdresser for years and he did something twice now that made me sick. He dropped a comb and continued to use it on my hair after it fell to the floor and the last time I saw him he used this really gross old brush on my hair. I do not want to go back to him, but what should I have done?. I was too embarrassed to say anything and so I had to rewash my hair and redo the style when I got home. It was like flushing money down the toilet as I went for a little pick me up since I have a new baby and I usually only have time to wash and wear... Why did this happen?.

I work in a hair salon. It is a law that tools must be disinfected. There should have been a container of barbicide on his station that he would dip the comb into after it fell. And so long as the brush doesn't have hair on it, it is his decision which brush to use. Try bringing your own brush next time. And be sure to tell the manager the next time anyone drops a comb or brush on the floor without disinfecting it.

You should of stopped him at the time he dropped the comb or brush. The thing you need to worry about is getting bacteria on your scalp. If the comb or brush was dirty or unsanitary, then if it accidently scraps your skin, you could develop a nasty infection.

Maybe you ask the hairdresser to use sanatized combs or brushes or you find another hairdresser?

Good Luck!

Really, wrong category. You should phone the salon manager and explain what happened. Obviously he is an unhygenic stylist and you shouldn't go back to him. Most good hairstylists keep their tools in good, clean shape by using barbaside. He should have put the comb in barbaside and said sorry. He sounds gross. I would complain for sure.

I would have said to him ...are you going to wash that comb before you use it on me?? MY hairdresser always gets a new comb that has been soaking when she drops it. As for the brush...I don't think its tht bad...tehy do need to clean it out every so oftern though.

Reasons why this is under baby names:

If it's a boy you insist he is a hairdresser

If it's a girl you know she is going to have lots of hair

Really? Stand up for yourself. Call the mngr and get your money back and then report this to your local health department!

This should be in the subject hair not in baby names. But you should have said something and not paid the full price.

That guy is nasty, next appointment call ahead and tell the manager you want someone different and if they can't or won't help you then consider going else where.

I would name the baby "bad hairdresser", but not "Hairdresser Bad". Hope this helps!
