I think it is just the discharge before you officially start your period. Don't be concerned about your age. Everyone gets them at different times. You are on the right track with having panty liners and using them. Keep it up. I do not think it has anything to do with being lactose intolerant.

First of all, being lactose intolerant has nothing to do with getting your period. Lactose intolerance is when your body has difficulty breaking down the lactose in dairy products. Depending on the severity of your lactose intolerance....your symptoms may vary. Generally, lactose intolerance will make your stomach cramp and you may have diarrhea. It's possible what you are experiencing is a bit of leakage of diarrhea. However, your body may also be gearing up to ovulate... resulting in your first real period if the egg is not fertilized. Some women spot and have cramps around ovulation and right before their period starts. You'll notice a different smell between the two. I do suggest you talk to your mom, though. The two of you are in charge of you being healthy. I'm sure she will be glad to talk to you and happy that you came to her. ;) It is okay you haven't got your period yet. Girls can get their period as "late" as 16, but it's just the right time for you. I recommend getting this book: http://www.cyclesavvy.com/

I understand what you are going through right now. It is so scary because you aren't sure what is happening "way down there". Personally, I didn't want to know. I tried to ignore it however because of the red spotting, I couldn't hide it for more than a few weeks from my mother. It is a wonderful thing to have your period though, you are now a woman! I do not believe it has to do with you being Lactose deficient - it means you can't have milk. (which many people have this too). I have attached a wonderful site about getting your first period.
Let me tell you, I was SOOO worried to tell my mother. There is nothing to worry about though, every woman has a period. I think when I have kids, I will honor that day into womanhood. So, today is the day you have your womanhood holiday! Congrats!

Well i do think it is your period, i am being serious when i say this smell the brown stuff you get in your knickers if it smells bad then it should definitely be your periods. You also should not be scared to tell your mum even if you do make a mistake, she is your mum and that's what she is here for,to correct you and teach you about things you don't know. Also if you have period pains in your stomach you should take something if the pain is quite bad i would recommend something like feminax or something along those lines that will ease your pain, these pain killers are available from most chemists or phracmacy shops.
Good luck !;)
I'm sure you will be fine.

usually your period is very light for the first several months, but after a while, you will start having bright red blood once a month. You have started your period, so feel free to tell your mom, and enjoy the time where all you need is pantyliners, because it won't last forever. Your friends who have stomach pains are experiencing PMS, it is something that some girls have, but not everyone, be very glad that you do not, it is definately a blessing and not a problem. You are all grown up now, be happy about it!

I think you got your period. Congrats! You really need to talk with your mom. I know it can be difficult, but, take a deep breath, close your eyes and tell her. If you need advice on what to say, maybe you could ask your friends what they said.
As for the cramps...a warm bath or a heating pad helps. They also make these great wraps just for pain in your back, tummy, etc. Haven't personally tried them but I hear they work pretty well.
Again...Congrats and welcome to the wonderful world of being a woman!

You might be spotting and yes, your mom was wonderful for getting you those liners, and since she did this for you, she's ready for you to ask questions about it, she's had 13 years to prepare for this, I'm sure. But you just need to wait until you're alone together, either in the car or just watching tv she's probably more understanding than you think.

It does sound like my first couple of periods (back in the pleistocene era). They can also be really irregular the first few months.
What you're seeing is dried blood (that's why it's brown) because your hormones aren't completely synched up yet and you're not shedding the uterine lining immediatly at the end of each cycle.

It sounds like you have gotten your period. You should really go talk to your mom about it though. My feelings would be hurt if my daughters didnt trust me when it comes to this girl stuff. Go talk to her,.. go....
