If you bid 99 cents the price will go up. Often there will be a reserve price. There is also likely to be a "handling fee" or postage will be for more than what is required by UPS or FedEx.

The ending price will most likely not be that low. The seller could be a scammer, charge very high shipping, or have stolen goods. Be sure to check the feedback rating of the seller and make sure they have lots of positive feedback from selling, not just buying if you are purchasing a big ticket product like a laptop. Also, know what you are buying, descriptions can "lie" by omission on ebay. Don't assume anything and ask questions before buying.

Remember, if a deal sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. Read the descriptions of the items carefully, some of these items aren't the actual laptops, but instructions or advertisements to purchase laptops. These people are scammers and will try to make that fact not as obvious. If it is in fact a laptop, it's probably broken or really poor in quality. Emptor Caveat.
