I feel your pain. On average, I get five hours of homework a night. Our teachers don't realize that we have other subjects, so they pile it on. We should only have to do projects and study after school.

School should be focusing on making us learn IN school, not out of it. Most of my teachers will give us a huge assignment, but during class they will focus on explaining the assignment (how to do it, when it's due, etc). So, I basically have to teach myself everything.

Well - the other day one of the homework assignments I gave my students was to bring their history books to class - in the first class out of 24 students less than half accomplished this - it all depends on where you are going to school and the abilities of the students.

Good Luck!!!

Because students have a lot to learn to be well-educated, and there is only so much time in the school day.

In addition, it is the rehashing of the material a second time, and the application of it in a different way, that really makes it "stick" in your mind.

I know, there is way too much homework sometimes...like I have to do this dumb experiment for science, except I can't and no one is helping me with it when I asked the question! :(
