I know that a song sometimes can say what we can't. But trust me, you are better off being upfront and honest with the person (or persons) that you don't want to get too close to you. Set the expectation from the beginning the right way. Otherwise, it will be very awkward later. Wouldn't you rather know up front if the role was reversed? I would. :)
