For an adult love is giving without expectations.
For a child love is getting taken care of.
Of course everyone enters inter-dependent relationships and sometimes the dependency of one person smothers the other. That is why many marriages fail. Too much dependence on a fantasy of what the other will do for them, their lifestyle, and their image.
People should learn to be very happy by themself before they enter marriage. If you need someone then you are too vulnerable and dependent.

I was going to say true love ..not just infatuation..or lust..is just like the holy graile...it's no use searching for it..you will never find it..but if you take life as it comes it will hit you in the eyes...after reading one of the answers to what is love ..I have to confess (after many "lovers"..31 years of marriage.then a divorce..and a re-marriage to onother lady for 6 years ) I DON'T KNOW!!
