Do you feel safe at your school? Why or why not?

Why do I care? When I was a Freshman, I was stabbed in the back right across the street from the school. If I hadn't walking away from the kid and wearing my heavy jacket, I'd have been killed right there. That was long ago, but I see the threats are still there at too many schools. Do you think adults have their priorities messed up?

sumtimes i do n sumtimes i dont. a lot of people in my school bring in guns n knives n theres fights all the time. people have been killed in my school. u cant go to the bathroom, cuz theres always sumbody there waiting to beat u up. even in the classroom u can get beat up. people try to pick fights for no reason. u can be walking in the hallway minding ur own business n sumbody wants to kick ur ***. i hate my school, almost everyday i get in a fight. its a pain in the *** to have to fight wit sum idiot all the time. we got security guards but theres a lot more students than them so theyre not that much help. obviously teachers dont do nothin, cuz there afraid theyre gonna get their *** beat too. i see high schools on tv, n i wish i can go to a school like that. everythings clean n everybodys not trynna act so stupid.

That's tricky because at my school, there are basically no fights, believe it or not, because the policies are so strict. Fight, get suspended at least 3 days. That makes it boring though. Along with this fact, I believe comes a false sense of security. There is only one FEMALE officer at our school. Now i'm a girl, and girl power and all that but I don't even think she carries a gun. The doors are unlocked like all the time because of the seniors leaving early for internship and work study, and nobody really monitors who goes in and out of the building so really, I do sometimes do worry about the security of my school.

I'm home schooled but when I did go to regular school I didn't. I have been in home schooling for 2 years. The kids were out of control and no one did anything about it. I could of brought a knife in to school and not of told anyone and I could of stabbed someone. No security.

I guess, for me, there are certian times I do feel safe and I don't feel safe. I do feel safe with teachers and other adults working at my school because they're here to help me.
I don't feel safe with other kids. One day I'm being chased by a gang. Or being made fun of because of how I look. Or I have someone 'looking for me'.

not really. i mean my school is being bomb threated every other day and we have all these "code reds" and we have to sit against the wall while the building is searched. drug busts happen alot too. again we sit against the wall and drug dogs come into our school and if the rap against our door we all have to go to a closet. then if it goes to the closet everyone goes to the principals office. it sucks.

heck no! Im waiting for one day a nerd to get sick of being made fun of and brings a gun to school. if my school was smaller id feel safer (my school has 3-4 k kids)

yea it's a really small private school. there are only like 400 people from k-8th grade. im in 8th grade and there are only like 45 people in our grade. no one's perverted or a drug addict or anything. i mean there's like always drama...but it would be like about someone calling someone else annoying..lol
