how do i get my disposal to not stink? i'm put lemons down there, but that only helps for a little bit, what else can i do?

Hi Kim. To remove the smell, pour ice cubes down it while it is running. Make sure the water is also running at the same time. If you have an ice maker, you will use approx 1/2 of the tub to correct. If no maker, a half a bag from the party store will do you wonders!

try cleaing the underside of the rubber flap that keeps your hand from getting in there. Obviously keep the unit off or better yet unplug it. You won't believe what comes from the back side of the rubber that you can't see. When using the lemons I use some ice and run the water making sure to remove the lemon peel after it is pretty beat up.

Do what the others said but also check to be sure that your garbage disposal drains into a P-trap. This is the "U" shaped bend in the drain pipe under the sink. If it does not drain into a P-trap sewer gas can come back up the pipe and enter your house.

baking soda ...overnight...it absorbs odor
