if you open it in photoshop or MS paint then hit save as and change the file type to JPG you can change them easy.

You should get IrfanView. It's free software for viewing photos, and it lets you save each photo in whatever other file format you need. It's easy to use and completely awesome. I use it just about every single day.

IrfanView is free and will do image conversion. Just open your picture and select File->Save As... then select the format you want from the drop-down at the bottom of the pop-up box.
