No, though I probably would have done at college, had there been such a thing. A good education is the key to avoiding minimum wage - it requires an upfront investment both in the person's time, and in money, but pays back many times over during the course of a working life.

I have at times. Currently I have a part time restaurant job that pays that. I am 36 and usually do construction work, which pays well, but when I am not working I will do almost any job just to make money. I often end up at those low paying jobs because construction jobs are the only good paying jobs i qualify for. I feel very bad for people who must rely on that pay all of the time because it would be hard to live on if not impossible. My guess is that most adults out on their own with minimum wage jobs won't have a computer to be on line to answer your question. They would not likely be able to afford a computer and might even be homeless.

I don't work for minimum wage. I am 33 and a lawyer in Nevada.

I did work for minimum wage for a while when I was a sophmore in high school; I was hired to sweep and mop floors in the maintenance hangar at a local flight school for $3.35 an hour. When I left that job four years later I had earned my aircraft mechanic's license and had logged quit a few flight training hours with various instructors and I was able to find a decent paying job quit easily.

I anticipate that I will work for minimum wage again one day, long after I retire from "real work." I plan to bag groceries when I am really old, I expect mostly it will be to meet girls.
