I need to know the year the mineral calcite was discovered or how hong ago it was discovered

Calcite has been mined since Paleolithic times. Calcite in the form of chalk was powdered for use as pigment or gesso or pigment and in the making of mortar, cement, and plaster.

Calcite is so widespread in caves, limestone, marble, chalk, travertineetc. etc. that the very earliest humans would have at least seen it, even if they may not have mined it.
