A woman's period is her menstrual cycle, the end of which is commonly know as a "period." The period as it is commonly referred to is when the unfertilized egg and inner lining of the uterus is sluffed away through the vagina (menstrual flow.) This is commonly accompanied by bleeding and sometimes cramping of the uteran muscles as the inner lining is shed off. However, if the egg that is released from the ovary approximately 14 days prior to the period is fertilized and successfully implants itself into the uteran wall the woman is pregnant and will not experience and periods for almost 10 calender months (9 lunar months.)

A pad is an absorbent cloth-like paper that is worn in the woman's panties as a sanitary means of catching the menstrual flow. Tampons are another means of catching the flow, but are inserted into the vagina.

well periods are something that let the girl know if she is pregnant or not; and it is the draining of the old egg to make another one because the old one is not fertile any more just look at a health book that works too!!!

pads are what catch the period so it doesn't go through the pants/skrit/shorts!!!
