direct x is a microsoft "plug and play" control that is usually used when you are playing internet games. Most games require some sort of direct x control in order for the game to work properly. Be careful though and only download these devices if you are sure the source is a trusted and secure site. I have actually had a lot of trouble with these direct x controls and suggest you use extreme caution when using these. They can cause a lot of trouble!
