The Exorcist. That's the scariest book I've ever read. Every night I would put it face down with something on top of it. (I know, it's silly....but it scared the s--- out of me). When I finished it, I took it outside to someone else's garbage can. I didn't even want it on my property!!!

The Exorcist by William Peter Blattey
or......
The Stand by Stephen King
Red Dragon by .........Harris
Walkers by Graham Masterton
Swan Song by Robert MaCammon
Mother's Day by (forgot; true story about Theresa Cross Knorr)
.....oh and I forgot....if I can remember the name I'll come back and put it in here at the bottom. One of the words is War though
Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank (awesome book about after nuclear attack)
There's also another book by Whitley Streiber (Communion, The Hunger) that is written like a documentary-nonfiction about after nuclear war. I cant remember the name but it came out in the late 80's maybe or 90's. Check under his name, the title is 2 words.

Helter Skelter!
I'm an avid reader of horror fiction like Anne Rice and Stephen King, and they never scare me. But Helter Skelter scared the begeebers out of me, mainly because it really happened. Charles Manson is still alive and fortunately in jail for the rest of his life.

House of Many Shadows by Barbara Michaels. I was up until 2 am finishing it. If you like ghost stories this is a really good one. All her books are good.
