global warming...what a crock, anyone who can read knows its only a theory put forth by the environmentalists to stop civilization from going forward...whats supposed to happen according to them is we all live naturally, which means no clothes, no heat, no food....gahhhhhh...im sick of hearing their junk...

Dude, most people on here haven't a clue as to what IS global warming (myself included). That's why we listen to the people who do. Most scientist studying it agree that something should be done about it. Our esteemed President is worried about the cost. The COST! Not how will it affect the rest of the world, and our future generations, but what it will COST! I guess the exorbitant profits that the big oil companies are getting aren't enough.
As to your second question. Yes, I do. Someone has to. If we don't, how are we suppose to consider ourselves "compassionate". Conservatives will say that Liberals are pandering for votes by helping the poor through social programs, but Conservatives are making the top 1% richer by the day with their tax-cuts. Ask yourself, "Who benefits more?".
