I am 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant, and I've been having mild cramping for the past week and a half. However, last night the cramping worsened.

Before anyone says "go see your doctor", I have an appointment next week, and they can't see me any sooner (there's nothing they can do since it is really early in the pregnancy).

Here's my question: Is it normal to have mild to severe cramping for almost 2 weeks? And if so, about how long should I expect it to last?

Thanks everyone!

I am 22 weeks and still having cramping like my period.
Cramping is normal in pregnancy. They say it is becuase all of your muscles streching and getting ready for the baby.
As long as you don't bleed you should be ok but the first sight of blood please call your obgyn.
If it hurts that bad also you can always go to the er.
Good luck and hope everything goes good.

No it's not normal and here's what I would do.

1. Go to the ER and tell them your pregnant and cramping severely.

2. Call your doctor and say good-bye and then get another one. Their lack of caring about the condition of your pregnancy sends major red flags. They're right, there is nothing they can do to prevent a miscarriage if it's happening. However, the fact that they don't even care enough to see you and check you out, and help you, tells me that you need to find a doctor who will care about their patient during the ENTIRE pregnancy - not just the later months.

If you are miscarrying - there are measures that have to be taken to avoid infection and such. Good luck to you. I'll say may prayers that all will be well, but I urge you to go to the ER now, and get another dr. later. Next week is too long to wait.

PS - Chances are you didn't talk to the Dr. Try calling after hours to get the service who will call the Dr. on call. Tell him what you're experiencing. - Let him know that you're scared.

God - what a really sucky attitude....I can't believe you were told that. I'm so sorry.

ring your midwife if your that worried for the reason which you will not be able to relax, yet i substitute into having the same pains the different night and that i'm in basic terms 33 weeks and that i phoned the wellbeing practitioner in the morning and it ended up being the toddler shifting and turning out to be engaged and that i've got a mushy urine an infection that could reason cramps and vagina discomfort, so i might ring your wellbeing practitioner the following day to get checked over. If the rigors get lots worse do not even worry ringing the midwife merely pass to the wellbeing facility for the reason it incredibly is have been she will deliver you through fact your so far long previous sturdy success x

I still get cramping off and on. Whether it is normal or not I get it. If you have no spotting that is a good sign. Hopefully all will be well at the doctors next week. Good luck

I had some funky cramping today and I am 7 weeks along. I called the doc and she said as long as there is no spotting it should be fine

Do you know for sure it's cramps because when your pregnant your belly gets bigger and sometimes feels like cramps....

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and it was so bad for me one time i couldn't move for like 10 mins then i went to the doc and they told me that there's nothing to worry about it's just your belly growing
