need ideas for making bookends....?

i'm thinking about making some bookends....but i'm not sure of the "design"....
do you have any ideas??

A couple of rocks. Glue felt to the bottoms.

Make them out of wood then paint them. Or maybe just fill up a vase or container with small decorative rocks or marbles.
