I am new on Y/A and have been surfing this site for a few days now. I noticed a lot of answers are cruel and rude. Not to mention the vulgar language. I want to know if these people are putting on a show or do they really mean what they say? Please be honest with your answer on this one.

I think a lot of the rude and crude answers come from teenagers who want people to think they are adults, when, in reality, it shows just how childish and immature they really are. Most of it is just bull, though. You seldom get a serious answer for a serious question and serious questions are few and far between.

In some categories like Politics and Religion there will be some very real hate. But usually ppl are just being sarcastic or funny. You can't take to heart what someone says about you, your question or your answer. After a while you will get better at reading between the lines. Welcome newbie!!

Some of the people are joking but some are also for real. It's not always easy to pick who's joking and who's just cruel.

personally i dont give that kind of script a second glance but being new to y/a myself i have found some really helpful info, just scan what you need and disregard the rest! good luck and have fun
