Let's see....how bout...."Time can't measure the worth of the years you've given to this company." or "The devotion you gave to this job cannot be measured by time alone" too sappy? I was trying to incorporate time because of the clock - "Time alone cannot measure the true devotion you gave to this job. May the next 20 years serve you well." or "20 years of perseverance devoted to a job well done that cannot be measured by time alone." ooohh...aahhh...hope that helps. ** You can add "you'll remain in our hearts forever" or "Time cannot erase the evidence of a job well done, we'll always remember you." or "The perseverance and warmth you brought with you each day will always be remembered" or "blah..blah..blah....is forever etched in time as we continue on...." (I'm hooked on the sappy stuff,ha.) Or "The devotion you brought to this job is forever etched in the times we've shared..." Try not to say "You'll never be forgotten, "instead say,"you'll always be remembered" if you go w/that. is that a bit more helpful? oh - I never say 'good luck' cuz I really don't believe in luck, but you can if that's what you say or say something like, "We wish you every blessing in future endeavors" or "We wish you only good things" or "You leave a lasting impression, we'll always remember. Wishing you the time of your life!"

What you said in your explanation sounded pretty heartfelt - just fine-tune it a bit. If you write it from the heart, it will be heartfelt. Sounds like a nice guy to work with!
