I entered someones front garden, when i approached the house some chickens/hens were loose in the garden, they come to me and basicaly started pecking at my ankles, i tried to kick them off then more came, thre was probably about 15 of them all going for me. i tried to get to the gate but i fell over and hurt my ankle, I was pecked at in my face causing minor lacerations. i managaged to get out of the gate. when the owner came out i ran off. i had killed 2 of them in panic, now i dont know where i stand legally because i had to file an accident report for work and the owners claim they watched me kill them for no reason, but this is not the case. i have a few cuts/scraches to prove it, is there any chance i can claim compensation? because they should of had a sign warning people before they enter the property. i have no idea why they attacked me, i didnt even know chickens did that!

First off, let me express my utter sorrow. I had the same happen to me once. I entered somebodys property and there were about 200 rats there. It was a rat breeding farm which served the Chinese takeaway industry. They had escaped. Imagine my utter horror as I watched helplessly as 200 rats charged me. I was in agony. Three bit my penis, seventeen bit my leg, and one cheeky chap actually did the cliche thing rats do and bit my hooter.

I filed a complaint. But, I had the entire Chinese community breathing down my neck for a while.

In short, the authorities closed them down. They were an illegal operation. I ask you, was this residence of chickens a legal enterprise? Were they licensed to breed chickens? Were there definitlely no warning signs? After all, I once witnessed a pack of ferocious chickens maul a Rotweiler.

If the answer to any of the above questions is no, then my friend, your case is strong. I despise illegal chicken farmers. Burn them!

Your purpose for being on the property is important.

If you were there to conduct business for your company...then you should be able to claim workmans comp!

Additionally, you may wish to consult with an attorney in your area who is familiar with your state laws but you MIGHT have the ability to recover medical expenses.

Lastly, before losing your primary evidence, have someone photograph your injuries for proof of injuries received!

Best wishes!
