i have removed the norton anti virus and firewall from the add/remove program list. There is also a liveupdate2.5 symantec and a norton securtiy center in the add/remove program list. I need to know if it is ok to remove both things, and in the regedit if it is ok to remove all the norton/symantec things. And if there is any place else that it might still be please let me know. Thanks

Sure it is safe to remove them from add/remove programs if you don't want them any longer. You might want to consider getting another antivirus/firewall application to give your computer some protection.

Mucking with regedit can be dangerous if you are not careful. I wouldn't suggest manually removing items from there unless you have a good backup of the registry and knowledge on recovering from a registry failure.

Norton is S#!T. Its costly, pc Hogging, undesirable Programmed, ineffective and has a poor detection fee. attempt a physically powerful loose application like AVG loose 8.o or Avast homestead version mixed with Comodo fire wall professional. this could supply ideas-blowing protection for loose. To do away with Norton you're able to acquire Revo Uninstaller (only Google it... that's loose) and uninstall something that has 'stay replace", 'Norton' or 'symantec' in its call and confirm you run the uninstaller in superior Mode
