I want to play an old demo of Fallout (a game made for Windows 95-98) on my current XP machine and it doens't want to work when I download it. Any tips on what I need to do to get my comp to play this older game?

i"m going to assume the game installed okay. right click on the game icon (if on desk top) or game executable (fallout.exe) in the insall folder, go to properties. click compatibility and set it to win95 or 98. if the game tries to start and crashes back to the desk top, follow the previous steps and check the box the says turn off advanced text services.

You can boot to a system disk from the version you need. IE Win 98 etc and run it from Win98/DOS.

Or inside of XP you can right click on the link and select compatibility and select either Win 95 or 98 mode.
