i don't know. I personally have a myspace page, but I also don't have a life. Do you think that people who update their profiles all the time, especially their backgrounds, change their songs, and always post up pictures, just have too much free time on their hands? I've noticed that popular people that I went to school with who were always busy, either don't have a myspace at all, or don't long on that often. (Don't worry, these are people I know, not strangers)....but I was just curious, what you think?

by people who just don't have lives do you mean people who don't have hot sex lives? popular people may have better things to do, but that doesn't mean an online service like myspace isn't fun.

Well I have a Myspace page. But its not necessarily used by people who don't have lives. I use it to keep in touch with friends and out of town relatives. I mean if my friend moved away and was long distance we could still talk everyday without running up the phone bill. Also since young people rarely use e-mail any more except for chain letters and getting accounts with it, it is a way of e-mailing each other. I do put pictures on there when I'm bored and update my page but not everyday. People who update it everyday are lames. Lol

Well... I also don't have a life... and I went through the phase where I was changing my profile all the time. I stopped doing that though, now I change it every now and again. I still check it multiple times a day, however, but I moved to California last July from Michigan, so it's a great way for me to keep in touch with my friends back home.

So I guess my answer is that it's not just for people without lives, it's also for those who need an easy way to keep in touch with old friends.... who consiquently also have no lives...

Oi... I need a hug.....

P.S. it's also a good time-waster while at work! But now that I've found Yahoo! Answers, I don't play on MySpace as much...

I like myspace because it keeps me in touch with everyone! There is nothing wrong with updating it and putting up songs and stuff. It's kind of a fun thing to do like reading. Myspace has groups too that can be beneficial like if you want to talk or learn about certain issues or simply need support. The videos are fun to watch and theres lots of things to do on there when you are bored. I have friends who go to school full time and work but they also find time to play around on myspace.
Wow.. I feel like I was just in a commercial for myspace lol.

Hmm, that's an interesting point.
I think myspace is a wonderful yet time consuming website and if you are not careful can get sucked into the world of myspace.
I personally like it for music.
I don't bother with the whole changing profile nonsense...maybe every month or something lol.
People who change their pictures/songs everyday really have WAY too much time on their hands and should be out doing a job or something useful..haha.
Having said that myspace is also a great place to meet and stay in touch with friends so yeah.
=)
I'm pretty ok with myspace.

I do think that some people put WAAYYYY to much into it. I personally love Myspace... I have found alot of old friends and I like playing with the HTML. However, there is only so much you can do with it. Once I was done decorating my page etc. I do log on just about everyday to check for messages.... but I also work from home on my computer so I am bored alot.

Myspace isn't quite just for people lifeless. I have one. But it's also used for dating, new friends in the area, and so on. I'm not really sure though, because I don't go on that often, but when I do, I update A LOT. So I'm not sure, thats a good question!

I think My Space is great! My husband and I travel all over the United States for his job and it is a great way to stay in touch with people for the short times we come home to visit. Some people have a lot of time to work on their pages, others don't. I'm sure that there are worse things that you could be doing with your time! If you have lots of pictures to update all the time, maybe you have a really exciting life and want to share it with your friends :-)

No, Myspace is seen as an extra life. If you have no life then it is a life substitute. People with lives often have Myspace and therefore have two lives.

I think part of it might be that myspace gives people the tools to be able to express themselves creatively.. and deep down I think a lot of people have that desire but don't always have the means to be able to express it.

So no, I don't think you don't have a life. I think you have a lot of creativity trying to get out, and myspace is just giving you an outlet for it. If it were 100 years ago... I think you might be painting, writing, or something else that lets you express yourself. :)

I think you're absolutely right.
And before someone goes bashing away at me for being on here a lot - I'm at work when I'm on here and I do my job so well that I have the free time to be here, I don't even own a PC or have cable TV, both by choice, because I have a life outside of an electronic box.
