Very simple answer unlike most.

Unfortunately not the way it stands now. The division is too stacked and they just don't have what it takes to capture the wild card.

Reds should have done more this offseason, they've been rather stagnate, kinda costing. Maybe they can make some mid-season blockbuster trade and make a run for it.

I think that the Reds chances of making the playoffs (at least as a wild card) are really not all that bad, though they didn't do a whole lot to improve themselves during this off season. The key for Cincinnati may very well be in getting at least 150 games out of Ken Griffey as well as some of their pitchers coming through for them.

It is a possibility considering that most of the teams in the NL Central are pretty comperable in talent makeup save for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Even though they may not win the division, they still have a wild card to shoot for.

Having said that, it will be difficult to compete with teams like the Cards, Astros, Phillies, Mets, Dodgers, Padres, Cubs, and to a lesser extent, Marlins and Giants for four available playoff spots.

I see the Cincinnati Reds making a run for the National League Wild Card but coming shorthanded.

It's a long season and anything can happen.

The Reds were very close last year until a series of losing streaks that killed them.

If they do make it , it will be as a wild card at best.

Keep the faith.

unfortunately not. that team i really do think has a curse. they can never get anything done. even with Dunn an the always injured Griffy Jr. they just dont have a stacked team full of good pitchers or fielders to get the job done. pitching wins games and untill they address that problem they will be frozen behind the Cardinals (but still above the Cubs lol)!

i'm a white sox fan but i'm still a fan of the reds. i do believe they will find a wild card spot but they will need to face houston well. watch for aaron harang to have an allstar season as well as bronson arroyo. ryan freel will steal bases and you have a power hitter in adam dunn

Seeing as how Spring Training hasn't started
only time will tell if they will be good enough
to make it to the playoffs.
They have just as much of a chance as anyone
at this point.

Tough yet possible if they can click on all cylinders like they did last year before their multiple losing streaks.

They will have to play great ball to get in.

NO,absolutely not. They have a very poor pitching staff and will have trouble scoring runs. They will battle the Pirates for last in the NL Central.
