It seems now days you can not say anything good or bad these days without someone jumping in to argue with you. Is this due to the foolish need to prove they are better than everyone else?

Believe it or not I am not really talking about politics or anything deep. Today my name was added to a email list and they started sending me spam but my email along with everyone elses was displayed and me along with a few others complained and asked to be removed. I started getting harrasing emails for asking to be removed. They were argueing for the sake of argueing.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I think some people come on here just to vent, just to pick an argument with someone to get out their frustration. Usually they go to the religious section. They love to bash people there.

From a political/cultural perspective, it is because people with motives to push certain agendas have discovered it is the easiest way. If you can convince many many willing listeners that your argument is correct then you will have your agenda see success. Now, to take that to the next step, you want to get your listeners doing the same thing, to argue your agenda on your behalf and so on and so forth. This is what we see now in this golden age of communication where everyone talks at the same time. All talking heads arguing Bushes agenda, so their viewers go out and argue for his agenda. The opposition to this tactic has little choice but to either lose, or use the same tactic. If you look at other cultures that are more at peace, live longer lives, have larger families, you will see this system in USA is NOT the way!

Maybe you are just saying wrong things.. look at both sides of the fence. There is a slight possiblity that you may be wrong, the person who corrected you was being courteous and you only felt defensive because you cannot take the heat. I used to be like that in some ways. i used to blurt things out even though i was wrong. but I swallowed my pride and only speak now when my opinion is asked or I know the correct answer. To be Intelligent is a gift that you should not hold back, even if those around you will hate you for it.

it is due to strong beliefs and staying true to what you believe in. Everybody has there own beliefs and values of their own and when someone tries to justify that then you have to stand up in what u believe in and tell them your opinions. To some people that may be looked as arguing and to otheres it maybe looked as self doubt but to otheres it may be looked up as staying true in your morals and values. Just keep in mind that no matter where you go in life there will never be anybody who shares the same beliefs, morals and values as you do. And if there is someone know that for every someone there is 1 other person that doesnt agree. Arguing is a way of life and its almost impossible to avoid it. Especially when its a direct argument like a I statment or you. eg. you never do anything around the house etc who is not gonna aruge about that lol. ITs just a natural especially when its direct.

Best of wishes kesha.
