The question was for "inspirational" movies, not just "great" movies.

Shawshank Redemption (from a "Justice" standpoint)

It's a Wonderful Life (for the beauty and triumph of "Capitalism and Charity"). George Bailey made everyone in Bedford Falls richer (both financially and emotionally.)

Both The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur (from a "Spiritual" and "Faith-Based" standpoint)

Saving Private Ryan (from a "Military" standpoint)

Listen to Me (from a "Morals based" standpoint)

Rudy (from an "Athletic" standpoint)

Dave (from a "Political" standpoint)

Schindler's List - in a time of such horrendous, ugly hate and violence, here's one guy who single-handedly rescued over 1,000 Jews from certain death.

The Straight Story - an sickly and elderly man ride his 30 year old lawn mower (LAWN MOWER!!) just about 250 miles to make amends with his long lost brother. Priceless.

Field of Dreams - if you've never seen it, I'm not explaining this to you. "Hey Dad....you wanna have a catch?"

Corinna, Corinna - during a time when blacks and whites were to be "separate," Whoopi comes in and saves the family. It's a cute movie.

Shawshank Redemption - even the prisoners who actually commited the crimes were likable. Red and Andy got what they deserved. Beautiful.

The Passion of the Christ (how much more can one be inspired than by what the Son of God went through for us?), Remember the Titans, Hoosiers ("I'll make it"), Chariots of Fire, Dead Poets' Society, and most recently, Facing the Giants

Strange though it may seem, for me it was the sixth sense.I was in a dark period in my life and was brooding and more or less living a bit half asleep. After watching it , I had to walk to work
and i seemed to wake up to all that was around me.Several months later, I went back to get my diploma, true story!

I answered this question previously today, it was a similar question but The Pursuit of Happyness really inspired me.

"You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can't do it. You want something? Go get it. Period."
