Nothing. He built a reputation from strictly hear say. Old tales from the ***** Leagues that got blown completely out of proportion. The same applies to Josh Gibson who's legend has grown to ridiculous proportions as well. I've always laughed at the story of Gibson's 800 home runs. In his entire career Gibson hit a total of 146 home runs and never hit more than 17 in a single season. Neither were that good and neither belong in the hall of fame.

Ok.So you know how every one babbles about Jackie Robinson and how he broke the colour barrier,Paige was supposed to go before him but it did not happen.Paige is proven to have won more than 2000 games which would make him the most endurable pitcher ever. He had a fastball that was faster than Nolan Ryan's(can't remember the exact speed).

According to legend, he was the greatest pitcher ever in the history of baseball. If he had pitched in the Major Leagues earlier in his career (he started at age 41), I can't imagine how many wins he would have had until he retired at an amazing age of 64!

He is probably one of the best pitchers of all time...

He was so incredibly dominant on the mound that they say that he would let the batters make contact every once in a while just so that his fielders could get some action.

He changed the way the game was viewed and he as well gave blacks a new view and a chance just like Robinson did.

He was in his prime when Blacks were not allowed in Major League Baseball. He pitched for Cleveland when he was 80 years old.
