Your current and former employers will send you the W-2. If you don't receive them by Feb, contact them for it.

They're supposed to have them mailed out by January 31st of every year, by law. A lot of companies wait until the last day, and then it could take a bit for the mail to get to you. Call the fiscal department or the manager of your previous place of employment, and ask them when the W-2s will be mailed out, or if they have been, and see if they can verify the address to which it was sent.

They have until tomorrow to mail it to you (it must be postmarked by 1/31) so give it a few days. After that, just call the employer and tell them you haven't received your W-2. If they don't cough it up, call the IRS and find out if they reported any wages for you. If they didn't, and they withheld money from your check for taxes of any kind, they're in deep poo poo and the IRS will tell you how to proceed.

Your first job should send you it through the mail as well. If they don't, I suppose you WOULD need to contact them sooner or later. It depends on the place of employment. Sometimes, it just takes different companies a little bit longer to process those things. You should get it soon. Don't fret.

I worked at the fair when I was 16 and they told me that since most of the people working there were young and making very little money ~$1000, they did not send out the W-2 automatically, you had to call and request them

By law, they have to send it out by tomorrow (Jan 31) so wait another week.
If you don't get it by then, give them a call. If they give you crap, call the IRS and tell them you never received it, not even sure if they prepared a W-2. That will get them in trouble........it could be as little as $25 for each late W-2 they sent or the IRS could not even let them deduct it.

By law your employer is responsible to provide you the W-2. It is possible that they may not have your current address and the one they sent out might have gone to a wrong address.
You should contact your employer and request your W-2 for the period you worked for them during F.Y.2006

Contact them and remind them they are required by law to mail by 1/31. If by 2/15 you don't have it, contact the IRS and file a complaint.

All businesses are required by law to mail out W-2s by January 31st. They still have today and tomorrow to get them out in the mail. If you don't have it by next week, I would contact your employer.

You are rushing things because the employers have until Jan 31st to mail them , but you could just call and ask if it was sent . . .
How come you asked us instead of them ?
