do you have some kind of goldfish? those are the fish that usually get it. it will either stay in one spot, have dificulty swimming, usually stay and rest on the bottom. to treat it you should stop feeding for 3 days and put some fresh peas ( with shells taken off) in the water.

Your fish will "dart" back and forth for a few passes and then slowly descend to the bottom for a time or so (as if it were dieing).

To correct this try using some "Freshwater" salt to your aquarium. Salt will help gill movement and improve the natural process of the slime coat.

You can find it anywhere fish are sold, just follow the directions, or you can use your "Table Salt" (iodine), half tsp dissolved in a cup of water per 10 gallons.

Good luck.

My little goldfish was suffering with that.....he would lie upside down in the water and swim sideways.....he also found it hard to reach the bottom of the tank......try not feeding him for a couple of days and change the water....worked wonders for my little Bob!
