If you have the required visa and work permit there is no reason why you cannot work in the UK. Employment rules for immigrants are the same for most countries, i.e. employers should do all they can to hire a citizen first, and if they cannot they can then advertise their vacancies elsewhere.

What do you do. In my office we have people from all over Europe and the southern hemisphere, they are skilled workers, in a skill (engineering) that is in great shortage here.
