I agree with malia. 2-3 years is enough time to figure things out, more than that is just a waste of time.

Good luck

it depends on the relationship, the communication between the couple, and each persons desire to be married. the latest census results indicate that more women are not as dependent on being married. other factors include each of their families,ie; the mother in law from hell. that is a factor in my case. i gave the girlfriend an engagement ring for our 3rd anniversary, that was back in 1992. at this point in time, since it's been sooo looong, we'll probably just up and get married some day without all of the hulla-ballou and hassles. we have already bought a home together and have decided not to have children so...... when she gets tired of waiting for the big question is when, i guess.

Girls these days can wait forever but typically the average is about 18 months to 3 years.

Some on here have been 8 years or more.

I would say if you are over 22 and it's been more than 3 years, you have some serious thinking to do.

Well if u love him and he loves you...that means u gotta a strong relationship...if This the case than be happy that you have him. some men take a long time to ask... my dad has had his girlfriend for 7 years and he didn't ask till last Christmas because his girlfriend was bugging him...he felt like he had too and it wasn't his choice.this was not good. he was taking his time because the last relationship didn't work out.. i wish it did because that was my mom he decided he didn't want to stay with...its as hard for him as it is u so be kind and be patient...

and good luck

at 1 year i think the talk of what we want, how are we progressing, is this moving forward should be made. If there is no serious satisfying answers to ur question u should move on. u should never allow a period of time to go by without checking ur relationship statu. if u ont seem to see eye to eye then please move on u dont want to waste time inwhich u can be achieveing other goals besides a relationship.

Untill both parnters feel that they are emotionally, stabily, mentally ready. Marrige is a big commitment and its best that its not rushed into because the point of marrige is that it lasts and isnt just a short time thing.

Best of wishes kesha

I think if you are dating for at lease one year, that such give the guy plenty of time to decide if she the one. But young ladies you got to keep those legs close because if you are giving it they why should he married you. One year is a reasonable mount of time. If the guy doesn't want to move the relationship to the next level then dump his lazy a** and find someone who does Remember your not getting any younger.

2 years is as long as I'm willing to wait. If we havent reached that level by then or he isnt sure at that point then there's no point in me waiting around.
