It takes 6 weeks to break a habit. Do your best (with help from foul tasting varnish if necessary) for that length of time and you won't want to bite after that.

I bit my nails for years and it became something that I did without realizing. I tried the horrible-tasting nail polish but I ended up LIKING the taste! I stopped after Christmas all at once and I guess I just realized it was pointless and I actually could stop it.

So, it's all about your own mentality - think about what you're doing when you bite your nails, think about the reason why. Probably because you're shy. Maybe try to build on your confidence.

Good Luck!!!

I used to be a major nail biter....but im way better now. all i had to do was go to the nail salon and get some acrylics. it only costs about 30 dollars for an appointment. but they tell you that if you do bite the acryllic you will have diareah. so i didnt even want to see if it was true i just didnt bite them in fear that it would happen... good luck

well the best way i can think of to stop bitting your nails is to break the habit a great way to do that is to dip your fingers in nail polish remover everyday when you get up , the taste is so horrific that you wont want to put your fingers in your mouth and that way you can break the habite without a lot of trouble.

I never heard of that stuff before...
Anyway, biting your nails is like any other bad habit. Here are some tips:

1.use self control

2.remind yourself how you would be in the future if you continue this habit.

3.if you are a girl, ask yourself, "do these nails look pretty, like they should, ect?"

Hope this helped!
