This is one of the many conspiracy theories leftist nitwits have proposed for our intervention in Iraq. These morons are totally clueless. Look back at history...the US has never occupied any country they defeated in war for any kind of economic gain...if anything our former enemies have prospered from the rebuilding funds we invested in their countries. One only has to look to Japan and Germany...beacons of economic prosperity thanks to Uncle Sam.
Most liberals are on illegal drugs or heavily medicated by their doctors and cannot think things through to logical conclusions.

I am so glad one comment is that liberals are on drugs. What about one the 'heroes" of the right Rush Limbaugh was speaking out against drugs but got caught with drugs? Oh I know it was plot of the liberals to plant those drugs on Rush.

They took over Iraq to control the oil, not take it somewhere else.
Why bother stealing all of the gold out of the Federal Reserve when you can simply occupy the Federal Reserve itself?
They began this madness by putting Saddam into power (and arming him, and arming him, and..) in order to control that area in the late 60's. Saddam simply decided he wanted to run the country on his own terms, so they were forced to remove him from power in order to regain control of the area and the oil it contains.
The facts are not disputable, considering the CIA documents titling "Oil reserves as military objectives" and the fact that we (the US) put Saddam into power in the first place.
But then again, someone will always try to dispute the facts with something along the lines of "The CIA cafeteria was low on olive oil that day" or some such idiotic nonsense.

A Kingdom that is divided can not stand !!! You are so right !!! Republican....Democrat......the division has to stop !!! If the United States was never attacked on 9/11 we would not be having this conversation right now. Oil is such a lame excuse.
It's common sense.

they didn't really take over Iraq to take their oil, but the thought that if Iraq became a stable, western styled democracy, and then other countries in the region followed suit, that it would stabilize the world oil supply.
It's not like we were going to take the oil for free, but the ideologic dream here was that we'd be buying it from (and supporting) stable western democracies, rather than kingdoms and dictators.
It's a nice dream- that apparently lacked a dose of reality.

I dug out a big pit in my back yard and they are pumping it here for me to hold. Yay!!!! I got me some free oil!!!
You know they will have some conspiracy theory about that too. Like there's a storage tank in Texas, or under the Pentagon. Or we have been shipping it to the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon, so we can set up a secret society for Republicans that we can live in, after we destroy the Earth with our Global Warming.
