One option is to change the keyboard layout to UK.

(In XP:) Go to Control panel, Regional and language settings, Languages tab, Details, then add UK keyboard layout and remove US keyboard layout. (While you're there, change input language from English (US) to English (UK).)

The problem here is that the marks on the keys won't necessarily match what actually gets entered -- for example the backslash will be a # sign. Shift-3 will now make a GBP sign instead of a # sign. You could put stickers on the keys or something to make up for this confusion.

If the site does not have a money converter you will have to convert from Pounds to Dollars manually to enter the dollar value.
There are money conversion calculators you can download or use live on the web.
