I'm sure you have looked at the room rates for that weekend and it's not pretty. The NCAA BB tournament is going on and that has become a huge deal to LV...It seems like a hundred thousand people descend on LV to watch and bet on the games.

Unlike the other answers you have received I actually did some research, thanks to your providing the dates you need rooms for. I can't say the news is good, but I will pass along what I did find, and where I found those rates

My favorite sites for checking LV room rates

Hotel - Avg $ per night - travel site
Terribles - $74.67 - travelworm (TW) It's really not terrible, then again it's not Caesars Palace either. If you can get by with a clean room and place to shower, this is probably your best option. It was the best rate I could find "close to the strip" . It is about a 1/2 mile walk East of the strip on Flamingo.

Sam's Town - $110.67 - TW - ST is on the Boulder Hwy, not on the strip but , it's a very nice place, nice rooms, great place to play, free shuttles(very nice full size busses) to the strip and downtown. And, the rate was the best for a nice hotel.

Orleans - $122 - I4vegas (I4) very nice rooms, 2 miles down Tropicana from the strip, free shuttle to center strip. good choice of restaurants, at very good prices.

Gold Coast - $140 - I4 - not as nice as Orleans but closer to strip, "on Flamingo" , free shuttle to center strip.

Stratosphere - $146 - The Strats web site - Far North end of the strip. The Deuce(bus) stops right in front for strip transportation.

Frontier - $164.33 - TW - on the North end of the strip, free upgrade to a 1br atrium suite. older hotel, but it's clean and an ok place to stay.

Unless you're willing to stay downtown at the Golden Nugget all of the 4-5 star hotels that I priced where $250 a night or better.

There would be an advantage in booking/holding the Orleans or Gold Coast, they will price match the online rate. By doing that you can continue to look for a better deal, while still having a room to fall back on. From the looks of things, I highly doubt it's going to get any better.

I stay at The Orleans it usually has good prices. It's off the Strip but they have a free bus that takes you to the Barbary Coast which is on the strip across from Caesars Palace. The drinks are cheaper and they have lower table limits at a lot of the game because it is off the strip which is also a good reason to stay there. During the summer the pool is never as crowded as other hotels in the area which i find to be a big bonus.

Circus Circus is usually in expensive,, but nothing real fancy,, or try the Exclaibur,, stay away from Luxor, as some of the room are angles inside of the pyramid , so I heard.... I prefer to stay at Harrah's, or Imperial Palace, right in the middle of the strip and not as pricey as Venician, Paris, all the new hotel casino... I also like the Rio, it is a couple long blocks from the strip, but shuttle buses can take you there from hotel for free...

Palace station has okay rooms and a great buffet. Not too far from the strip either. I also like Stratosphere. Nice rooms and priced in the 50 dollar range, plus its on the strip.

I love the Flamingo for exactly those two reasons. Its inexpensive and has great location on the strip. It also is a decent hotel
