From the male perspective, if it comes from your heart almost anything will do. It can be a small basket with sweets, a photo of yourself in a pound store frame, silk or real roses, and maybe even (yes corny) a pair of knickers with hearts all over them.
It really doesn't matter, it is your love that counts.
Failing all, however, a new car with twin turbo and lots of money to pay for speeding tickets will have to do as a last resort!
If you are both relaxed you can have a grand time of it, even dining at home of soggy chips with no vinegar!
Being together is what counts most.

My boyfriend and I are going to Olive Garden... we go there for Valentine's day and Mother's day and we go to Red Lobster or Chilis on Fathers day, and that's about it... we don't do too many gifts because we get each other stuff all the time and so we'd rather just have a nice evening out ... and we always take out daughter with us... it's just not the same without her.

Basically what I'm doing is that I'm giving him a memory box with some stuff I put together for him. I also made him a really nice card with a heartfelt poem that I wrote. I made him a poem book with pictures I have taken as well. : } I'm doing all this stuff because Valentine's is our first anniversary. ♥
Well, I found this great website that has a lot of ideas that people sent in. A lot of great ideas... cheap, creative, sweet. So if you need ideas, here ya go:
http://scripts.lovingyou.com/mdb/search.cgi?mdb=ideas&cat=vday
It helped me come up with some ideas and stuff.
Check it out!

If you're going to eat, a light meal. (Don't need to spell out why y'all wouldn't want to feel all bloated, do I? :-) You can make it yourself.
Best Buy and WalMart also have gift cards with hearts, and I bet guys would like those.
Try to stay away from flowers and teddy bears, unless you know for an absolute fact that he likes these things. (I once dated a guy who wondered aloud why guys never get flowers, so I gave him some. He liked it.)

well nothing extravigant i would say boys are not complicated so get them something as simple as they are like a jar of pickles w/ a heart or bow on it if they like pickles or a Hollywood Videos gift card and tell them you want to watch a movie with him his choice. I'd be cute and simple and you won't have to worry guys arn't complicated so don't pretend they are.

Maybe have a nice dinner at home, alot nicer and sweeter, than going somewhere, and put in romance music, candles, and maybe a nice movie you two would like. And about a gift , maybe a gift card of a store he likes.

I'm getting him his favorite cologne(typical) and a bag of Hershey's kisses, this may sound corny but, for every candy kiss he hands me I'll give him a kiss, anytime, anywhere, which I usually don't allow anywhere, but if he gives me seven then I'll make out with him for up to an hour....he's into the kissing thing and I figured he'd think it's cute.
