I’d be the Composite Superman (yes, I know, he’s so old you’ve never heard of him.) Back in the 60’s, he gained ALL the powers of the ENTIRE Legion of Super Heroes. He was able to radiate light, heat, throw lightning., stretch, bounce, had a computer mind, could become invisible, change his appearance instantly, had x-ray vision, super hearing, telepathy, agility and acrobatic ability, could transmute elements, alter chemical reactions, become desolid, project illusions, see the future, split into three people at once, grow to enormous size, shrink to microscopic size, and he was as strong and fast as Superboy, Mon-El and Ultra Boy put together! He defeated Superman and Batman twice, and if his powers hadn’t worn off, he would have killed them. That’s the powers I want!
(…only, I’d be a good guy.)
You can read the original stories about the Composite Superman for free at the ‘Superman Through the Ages’ site.

Batman. He's the quintessential hero: a man with a mission, and no powers. Just brains. And the ability to beat the crap out of anybody. That's what really makes Batman my favorite of all time.

not many people remember this one but i always liked aquaman, the one that could talk to all animals and swim under water.
My second choice would be the invisible man for obvious reasons

Gambit from the X-Men. He knows martial arts and can blow up anything he chooses. Plus you can't beat that awesome Cajun accent mon amie.

I'd be more of a villain.
Taskmaster.
He's got photographic reflexes.
He can watch a martial arts demonstration(for example) and mimic every move.
