I wish they could ask the families that were on those planes how it felt. I wish they could ask the innocent people who were in the buildings, the ones that had to jump because the flames were making their skin blister because of the intense heat. We live in a very selfish world, a very cold world !!! Where is the empathy?

I don't think we over reacted in Afghanistan. I'm not so sure we should be in Iraq but that is another subject. The terrorists had come to the conclusion that the US was a paper tiger based on past responses to attacks on our people. (Marine barracks in Beruit, bombing at World Trade Center, USS Cole, etc.) We lobbed a couple missles at empty training camps and called it a day. They only escalated their attacks and became more bold. They kept pulling the tiger's tail until we lowered the boom on them. It needed to be done and that viper's nest in Afghanistan was long overdue for cleaning out. We are not done there and won't stop until we get them all. If the islamist would put down their weapons and stop their bombs they would have nothing to fear from the US. WE did not ATTACK them - the US gets blamed for everything that is wrong in the world - look in your own closets for the monsters - they are not here.

why is it fox news just looooooooves to make sensationalist stories? Well, yes, it was not as bad as the holocaust, or as the rwandan genocide, or hiroshima, or the deads in former yugoslavia, but still.. It sucked.
Now... 3000 died...how many army soldiers have already died in Irak?? kind of funny, right?

The points made in the LA Times article are quite valid. It was certainly a horrible terrorist attack, but nothing compared to other events in the history of war around the world.

Even tho it wasn't as horrific as some other tragedies in history, it was really that bad. Any time innocent lives are lost, it's that bad.
