It's going to be hard to make a diorama with Eco's suggestions. :) Let's try things you can actually create visibly:

sand/dirt
continental shelfls vents (+smoke)
geotherma
mid-ocean ridge
underwater volcanoes
underwater mountains
underwater plateaus
rocks
lava
magma tubes
abysses (underwater canyons)
ancient cities (although that would be treasure)

Note: Coral is alive, so don't use that one.

Water Sand Coral Reefs - used to be alive, but are the skeletons of the animals Good luck with your project. :)
