And for extra credit, what exactly do you think it means to be gay?

Seriously, if you think it's a conscious choice, why do you think that someone would make it?

First the thought has to be planted. The person takes notice about the look, the smell or the voice of the person. Then the adversary starts inticing the person to think what if.... or how would it feel...to be close, near... A (spiritually) strong person would immediately know their boundaries and say that's obsurd! But the weak person starts letting their minds wander, they get more intrigued by the would'nt it feel nice just to...give it a try. They become more open to suggestions from this spirit (I am not the first Christian to entertain such duel thoughts. St. Paul wrote, “I do ... For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is I do… ) So this fleshy wants to feel good person gives in to the excitment of their thoughts. They indulge, telling themselves they will just give it a try, it won't make them a homosexual. Nobody needs to know, ect. Well for those fleshy feel good people they become inticed and either they will be borderline, willing to take a fling with either sex or because of some offense from the opposite sex; change their gender attraction altogether. (Until they are majorly offended by their own gender type, then they will be disillusioned by what they thought was a safe haven with their own kind).
The thing is to control ones thoughts when they start to get into left field and get focused on something else.
James 4:7 says to 'resist the devil', rebuke him, and he will flee from you. Ephesians 6:11 says to 'stand against the wiles (schemes) of the devil'. ...

I am straight and do not believe the majority of homosexuals choose to be so, they are born that way, just as I was born straight. I did not decide to be attracted to women - I just am.
I do think a small percentage choose to live the gay lifestyle (relationships with the same gender), but they are not homosexual, they merely practice homosexual acts, just as there are gay people who live as heterosexuals. I think those straight people who do choose to live gay lifestyles do so for a variety of reasons. Some may have been severly hurt or traumatized by a previous relationship and feel that there is no better option, some may have been victims of abuse as a child, others may do so just out of experimentation/boredom.

Why would a person chose a life of crime? Most of us don't. We try to live by the rules. But some people try to get something without working for it.

In like manner, why do some people use recreational drugs. Most of us don't. Everybody knows what drugs do to you. And yet, some people feel that for some reason, drugs are for them.

Homosexuality is just another way to obtain your gratification. People have an inherent revulsion to it, but some will resist the revulsion to obtain their gratification. The prisons are full of examples of what I am saying. Most of these men wouldn't have become involved in homosexuality activity on the outside. Inside the prison walls, their choices are limited. Some want nothing to do with homosexuality, while others decide to try it.

For various reason, some people on the outside try homosexuality, probably for the same reason people experiment with drugs. Why, you say? They are trying to get something, and they don't care how they get it.
