Ice. Freeze it good and chip it off. It is time consuming but if done carefully won't harm your carpet. You can also risk heating it back up and trying to rub it off when warm but you risk smearing it.
Good luck.

Use a brown paper bag from a grocery store. Lay a piece of the bag over the wax and iron over it with a warm iron. The bag will absorb the wax.
Careful that you do not get the iron hot enough to melt the carpet fibers.

Put some brown paper over the area then very carefully run a warm iron over the brown paper. It should melt the wax and lift the grease onto the brown paper. You may have to do this several times with clean brown paper

I know this one! I was making candles and had a mold come apart- green, pine scented wax-
Use a blow dryer and paper towels. Heat it up slowly until it looks liquid- a little bit at a time and sop it up with paper towels.
It takes a while, but I didn't even have a green stain... good luck.

Put ice in a baggie and place on the spot. Give it time to freeze the wax and just chip it off.
