I dont as I am a stay at home mom, but my husband does ALOT. He gets paid overtime for anything over 8 hours in a day and on the off chance he would have to work a Sunday he would get double time, there are times when he works Saturday which he gets time and a half for. Time and a half is the amount of all overtime pay for him except Sunday. Yesterday we dropped him off at 830 am and didnt go back to get him till after 1030 pm we hate it because we have a son that he wants to spend time with, but the money is good.

Exempt employees are not paid for extra hours. They are considered salary employees. Non-exempt employees are paid by the hour. They are legally supposed to get time and a half for every hour past 8 worked on a single day and every hour past 40 worked in a week.

You should be able to get paid or trade hours for hours anything over 40 hours is time and a half so you may want to take the pay unless you need the time. Take care Heather

i work an as required saleried job I get 2 days off a week but generally (if im lucky) only get 1
i work in the entertainment industry & the staff turn around is verry high indeed. the pay low & even after working that many hours i dont get a thanks or insentive other than to know ive done a job well done
all the hastle & ive worked out that im only getting £4.43per hour
so i think its time to get a pay rise or a new job.

Yes and they are unpaid. However it usually depends on your position within the company. Managers are expected to work "extra" hours

I collect the same salary regardless of how many hours I work. I usually put in 10-1/2 hour days. So on occassion when I take off early, there's never a problem.

I used to all the time but now I don't. The bosses don't think any more of you, you end up paying more tax and you lose what little quality time you have left. Not worth it. Unless of course you love what you do or work for yourself, I am one of the 85% of the working population who hate their job and just do it to pay the bills.
