The cast and crew filmed off of the coast of Southern California in the South Bay Area around the last week of August 2006. The film is still categorized as post production so we should see a trailer sometime next month.

Nothing Disney does is accidental. They filmed the two movies back to back starting in 2005. They did do some pick ups (refilming some bits and pieces) in December, but the majority of the film has been done quite some time. That of course, doesn't mean that the special effects are done. Indeed, ILM is probably sweating big time!
There was a rumor it would be shown during the superbowl as Disney bought some air time, but that was debunked by a couple websites.
(I however, would be willing to lay a bet that there will be a pirates trailer during the superbowl. Disney miss that audience? They may have blown the marketing on the first film, but they're not about to make that mistake again.)
The next rumor is that it will show before the Nick Cage movie, Ghost Rider, but that hasn't been confirmed either. The Disney Channel showed about 4 seconds from the film (not a trailer) on their movie preview show (Jack Sparrow says, "did no one come looking for me JUST BECAUSE they missed me??"
At this point, Disney is just toying with folks, building the anticipation (as though there was even the remotest possibility that the film isn't going to make a billion dollars and is completely critic proof...)
So if I was a betting girl, I would be the superbowl, and not just the bears and colts...

I have a feeling that a teaser trailer might come out with the movie Bridge to Terabithia since both are made by Disney it would make sense. During the Super Bowl would also make sense, since there will be millions of people watching.

Yes, it comes out in May '07 a la Lord of the Rings that rushed the last one out because they could. I have only seen the brief clip on Disney and the tiny interview with Johnny Depp. Can't wait, though!

in spite of everything the critics and many followers dubbed lifeless guy's Chest "rotten" (on rotten tomatoes) and all of the undesirable comments it have been given(the two critics and visitors), i think of they're protecting a lid on it as long as obtainable. I quite wish the third action picture is greater valuable than the garbled up crap we've been given in part 2. Ugh...

The movie was filmed at the same time they filmed #2. They did the same thing with Back to the furture. It took them 5 years to come out with #2, but 1 year to bring out #3. They filmed both at the same time and had it ready to go pretty much with #2 was released.
