I would say John McCain of Arizona. However, it really does not matter who runs on the Republican Party ticket. This is because America has shown a mass disapproval for the way things have been run through the Republican administration. Voters will most likely vote Democrat en masse. Evidence that points to this is the recent midterm elections, where Democrats ended up winning the House and the Senate. Although history shows over the past 60 years that this is normal, in this case, I believe the Republicans can not offer a candidate strong enough, or "moderate enough", to have a chance in the polls come November 2008.

John McCain (who unfortunately lost to Geo W Bush in the republican primary 6 years ago) should be running and Rudy Guiliani. A Time magazine poll from last week said that Rudy Guiliani would just barely beat Hillary Clinton or Hillary would just barely beat John McCain.

I doubt any conservative republican could win an election in this country. Bush is already too conservative for most people.

John McCain is the only electable republican because he is a moderate and oozes trustworthyness.
I guess you could consider him a conservative democrat.
