depends, browsers with alexa toolbar who visit your site will increase your ranking, and if a guest adds you to there delicious bookmark, yes. But hits in general do not affect your ranking performance. 1,000,000 hits that are not documented by a reliable source are just frankly" 1,000,000 hits" and that is all.

The different search engines have different ways of ranking.

Google, usually thought of as being the most important, will likely ignore how many page hits and visitors you get. UNLESS, they are coming from a variety of links in.

Google tends to page rank sites with lots of relative links in, so start swapping hard links with others that have similar sites.

Also, Google ranks pages higher that are updated and changed frequently.

Consider submitting a site map to all search engines and make sure that you allow "bots" to crawl through all relevant pages of your site.

As far as Yahoo, much easier to get higher rankings, but never creates as much traffic as Google.

Good Luck!

No it won't. Google bases its rankings on keywords, graphics, etc.
