Can anyone save my sanity? Every time I type something on Word the language keeps switching to English U.S. I've tried setting the default to English U.K but it keeps switching back all by itself. I wouldn't mind so much but I'm writing an essay on behaviour and it keep spelling it "behavior". Why is it doing this and how do I fix it.

go to Tools-->Language-->Set Language-->select English(u.k)
then click "Default..." button, then it will ask you do you wish to set English(u.k) as ur default language, click yes and you are set

Note: i tried the OK button but it gave no repsonse to me, so stick with "Default..."

Depending on the version of office you are using.

start menu / office tools / language settings

start menu / Microsoft Office / Office Tools / Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings

Select English US in the right colum and click on delete. if English UK is not in the right colum you will have to add it first from the left colum. simply select it then press add.

Using Office 2003 the Office tools folder is in the Microsoft office folder on the start menu. Other versions have a seperate tools folder on the start menu.

Using this Method ensures that Office will never switch back to English US

Try This...
Check your regional settings in Control panel -> Regional and Language options -> Regional Options

and Languages -> Text services

make sure all are set to UK
