It wouldn't have mattered to me. I grew up watching very little TV. (I am the same way now.) I probably would have been a chunky kid that was not active at all. I grew up playing outside most of the time, if it was rainy or cold, I was inside reading, listening to music, playing games, or doing some type of art project, etc.
I have the TV debate w/ my husband regularly, he grew up glued to the TV and I don't want my son to do the same. Sometimes I want to throw that thing to the curb.

I would have spent much more time outside. My first house was in the countryside with lots of cow pastures and a nearby lake that's in biking distance, and my current home is in the middle of acres and acres of woods. Sometimes I go walking in them, and go down to the marshy area, and stuff. I would have spent a lot more time outside, and as a result, I would have learned a lot about nature and recognizing plants and things, and I'd probably be better at constructing things from making things out of branches and leaves in the woods, and maybe I'd even be following a different career path that would land me a job working outdoors as a nature scientist.

I think it would make everyone a better person. I grew up with a tv but growing up I would rarely watch it because I was outside playing sports with my friends or doing something recreational. Maybe thats why I still have a nice slim body instead of a couch potato type body that other people have.

we didn't have TV when we were kids.... i saw it at my uncles house and was surprised to find moving images inside a small box... then, it became my friend ..... but without it, reading was my favourite hobby and i had the time to read some of the great books during my younger life... TV is good too.... u need it for a relaxation, viewing the recent news, songs, and talk shows... to get a better picture of what is happening around the world... in my life, TV was not a great part in bringing me up.....

I don't like watching TV (too many bad news). I stopped watching it 3 years ago and I feel better because television used to consume most of my time. I'm a whole lot more responsible now. I do enjoy a good book and of course my favorite Yahoo Answers. :)
God bless you

I rarely watched TV when I was a kid. I was either outside playing, or working. Now I mostly spend my free time hanging with friends or reading.
I don't think it adversely affected me. And I don't care what anyone else thinks. But maybe if I did watch a lot of TV, I'd care about peer pressure and all that crap, who knows.....

When I was younger we went through a period of about 6 mos without TV. It didn't bother me though, I just read books and went outside and played more.

I don't think I would be much different. I would have had more spare time, but who needs spare time when you're a child.
I wish I had spare time now, I haven't even got time for a TV set so it doesn't bother me now if I've got one or not.

I would read a lot of books, listen to music and walk my dog. Basically more of what I already do, because I don't watch that much tv, unless it's one of my own dvds

Yes I think it would make a difference in your life because you would visit with real people more and read more and probably get more work done.
