With Dennis Doerherty passing away recently do you think they could or should make a movie about the Mamas and the Papas since Michelle is the only one left and could help in the making of the movie with what she knows

Oh, yeah, they were together long enough, and their history is pretty well documented. There was a made for TV movie about them a few years ago, but it was kinda lame. I'd *LOVE* to see a real movie that follows them from the earliest to the end of the group.

IMO, they were one of the best, and there will never be another group like them.

60s singing group Mamas and the Papas beget movie.

COPYRIGHT 2000 New York Daily News

Byline: David Hinckley

The story of the popular `60s group the Mamas and the Papas will become a feature movie _ and while there's a finite amount of rock `n' roll, there should be no shortage of sex and drugs.

I think there is enough info for a movie. The problem is that the market is saturated with the same story lines right now. Ray, Walk the Line and Dreamgirls are all about acts that made it big in the 60's and then struggled.

Um. Maybe.

They should make a movie about Mama whatsit choking on a bologna sandwich and dying a hideous obese death.

It's an urban legend though, she didn't die for that last bologna sandwich, she died because she was HUUUUUGE. HUUUGE I say. She had like, heart failure and clogged arteries and stuff. My dad made me watch some old 60's concert of them, it was cool. She was huuuuge.

Dennis wrote a book several years ago, about their lives and experiences. It was awesome, so yes they should make a movie based on his book, and her insight!

I think it all depends on what you wanted to know about them. But I think since they have done movies on a lot of other bands, why not? I would watch it.

The length of time is irrelevant; look at how influential they were. Great idea.
