they have more similarities then differences, the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageant developed out of the Miss America pageant,,,,,, they both began as bathing suit beauty contests,,, Miss Universe has around 86 participants,,,,, with few from Africa,,,,, Miss America has around 100,,,,,with Miss Universe, organizations compete (bid) to see who get to host the event to select the representative from their country,,, or select them by other means,,,,, i would say Miss Universe focuses more on beauty and poise,,,,,,,,, Miss World adds in intelligence also,,,,,,,, an odd fact many Americans dont know, as we have the separate Miss USA and Miss America, and each one then goes on to Miss Universe and Miss World,, is that some from other countries have participated in both contests,, and some countries do not even have competitions to select their representatives,,,, Miss Universe has had entrants chosen by modeling agencies

It used to be that Miss Universe is the US version of Miss World (Presume it still is.) It just includes America, so the title gives you some idea of how they see themselves. Miss World includes a 'Miss United States' entrant. Miss Universe is only important in the US, Miss World isn't important anywhere now, is it? I remember watching it on TV with my family when I was young, but it's just another innocent pleasure banned by the do-gooders. (Can you imagine a Muslim Miss World contest where they all wear the veil?)

Obviously no difference except in the spelling. Miss Universe is not correct as no one from Venus was invited.

The question implies that one is more important than the other. The importance only comes from the money it generates for the sponsors. There are few, if any, pagents on TV anymore, because most people have drifted frm the whole notion that beauty is important. As we have seen from this year's scandals, there are many less than wholesome (!!!) contestants.

ZEP, the clean distinction is the place the contestants come from; in omit u . s . a . of united statesa., they are constrained to the 50 states and doubtless Washington, DC and Puerto Rico, whilst in omit Universe, there is worldwide risk ... as i do no longer think of there have been any contestants from different planets yet. i think of the two are standard between particular communities of human beings, yet to this point as value, i think of the question may well be "considerable to whom?" To me, that is neither.
