I am also breastfeeding and my cycle returned last week (8 1/2 weeks postpartum). I guess every woman is different. If u r concerned u could always ask ur ob. It may just be spotting. I hope thats it. Maybe u could be one of the lucky ones and be period free until after breastfeeding. At least one of us could be free. LOL!

I actually had a period at that time too after my 3rd. I was breastfeeding but I had put on a lot of weight after my 2nd and my body was just burning through it after I had he. I guess I had enough energy to make the estrogen necessary for a period. It was a bit shorter and lighter than mine are usually but it was still a period and I was very regular after that. I breastfed her exclusively for 8 months too.
Just report it to the doctor at your 6 week exam. Make sure to seek their advice immediately if there is any fatigue, pain, fever or clots related to it.

well you can spot up to 6 weeks. your body will take awhile to get back on track. give it a few days and see if you stop bleeding. if you bleed for more than a week i would call the doctor. but it sounds like it is normal.

This happened to me too after my son was born. It wasn't my period that didn't show up until 3 months after he was born.
